At Cheney Faith Center (Cheney Foursquare Church), we exist to help people know Jesus and live for Him daily. We are a small church in the college town of Cheney, Wash. Our church has attendees of all ages, with the median age around 40. We see lots of families with children. Our youth group is very outreached-focused and has around 75 students attend each Thursday night. We desire people to be in relational environments for growth in Jesus. We have a strong and robust women’s ministry. We attempt to be involved in our community on many levels through outreach.

At Cheney Faith Center (CFC), the family discipleship pastor’s job description includes:


  • Communication with ministry leaders, volunteers and CFC individuals.
  • Other communication as required (required 24-hour response time).


  • Weekly staff meetings and prayer meeting attendance.
  • Preparation and maintenance of budgets with ministry leaders.
  • General administration as required.


  • Production of church videos.
  • Podcast implementation.
  • General video/technology as required.
  • Social Media implementation.

Personal Ministry

  • Discipleship, follow-up and intentional pursuing of individuals at CFC for discipleship purposes.
  • Ability to visit with or minister to someone that comes into the office.
  • Newcomer follow-up.
  • Visitation with and prayer for people from CFC in the hospital.
  • General personal ministry as directed by lead pastor.

Youth Ministry

  • Administration of the mission of the youth ministry.
  • Additional oversight to the youth pastor and youth department.
  • Attendance of youth activities to provide additional pastoral oversight.
  • Communication with parents when needed to provide information or work through a student disciplinary situation.
  • Attendance and scheduling (if needed) of youth team meetings.

Faith Kids

  • Help administering the mission of Faith Kids.
  • Support and leadership to our Faith Kids director.
  • Assisting Faith Kids Director every week with administrative, curriculum and scheduling volunteers.

First Impressions Team Leadership and Oversight on Sunday Mornings

  • Recruit, train, schedule and pastor the First Impressions team of greeters, hospitality, Next Steps and ushers to create a welcoming, friendly environment where people can connect with CFC’s mission.

Pastoral duties as necessary or given to you by Lead Pastor

  • Help with water baptism (filling the tank and classes).
  • Preaching on Sunday Mornings when needed.
  • Closing of building after services.
  • General pastoral duties per lead pastor.

Discipleship and Leadership Development at CFC

  • In collaboration with the lead pastor, develop and implement discipleship opportunities.
  • Discipleship of new believers.
  • Mid-week relational environments.
  • Felt-need classes (e.g. marriage, parenting, finance).
  • Develop and implement leadership training in collaboration with lead pastor.

Our staff has a strong team mentality. We help and serve one another regularly to accomplish the strategies of each ministry.

We would like someone with experience with youth and kids, discipling individuals, leading teams and serving people in Jesus’ name. General ministry experience would help in this role.
