WORKSHOP A & B
Tuesday | October 6 | 10AM & 11:30AM
These workshop options will be available for BOTH A & B sessions. Pick and choose which ones you want to attend that day.
Sunday morning is just one hour of a child’s week. What happens in the other 167 matters more. This workshop gives a practical framework for moving parents from passive church attenders to active disciplers in their own homes. You’ll explore how to equip families with rhythms and behaviors that reinforce faith, and how to build communication strategies that keep the church and home moving in the same direction.
Speaker: Robyn & Sam Schad | NextGen Directors | Life Center
Great mentoring relationships don’t just happen they’re built with intention. This workshop equips ministry leaders with practical skills for both sides of the mentoring relationship: how to invest meaningfully in others, and how to posture yourself to receive coaching, wisdom, and accountability well. Walk away with tools to build a network of Christ-centered relationships that fuel your growth and sustain your ministry long-term.
Speaker: Dave Metzker
Many leaders don’t burn out all at once; they fade slowly, losing joy, energy, and connection somewhere along the way. Based on his book From Languishing to Flourishing, John Fehlen helps leaders recognize the signs of emotional, physical, and spiritual fatigue before they become a crisis. This session offers a honest, hopeful path toward rebuilding joy, deepening the relationships that sustain you, and embracing a faith that carries you through the hardest seasons of life and ministry.
Speaker: John Fehlen | Lead Pastor | West Salem Foursquare
Every church exists in a community, but not every church is truly engaged with it. This session invites pastors and ministry leaders of all church sizes to take an intentional look at local outreach not just when disaster strikes, but as an everyday posture of presence and service. This workshop will bring a grounded, practical vision for what it looks like to be the hands and feet of Jesus right where you are.
Speaker: Jennifer Thigpenn | Multiethnic Coordinator | Western District
You don’t have to wait for someone else to invest in you. This workshop equips ministry leaders and volunteers at every level with practical tools to take ownership of their personal and spiritual growth. Walk away with a clear framework for identifying where God is leading you and concrete next steps to get there.
Speaker: Bo Stern Brady | Lead Pastor | B4 Church
What does it take to stay in ministry for the long haul and actually love it? The secret is self-leadership, tending the areas of your life that only you can take care of. In this workshop, we will walk through six essential areas: spiritual health, mental growth, physical well-being, emotional reserves, relational vitality, and personal character. Whether you’re just starting out or deep in the journey, this workshop will help you identify your next step toward a long, sustainable, joy-filled ministry life. Let’s run & finish well.
Speaker: Joe Wittwer | Founding Pastor | Life Center
This workshop is for ministry leaders who want to go beyond managing people to genuinely investing in them. This session explores the intentional rhythms, counseling care, and spiritual health initiatives that empower pastors, staff and volunteers to thrive in their ministry call. You’ll walk away with practical frameworks for building a culture where your team feels seen, supported, and sustainably equipped for the long haul.
Speaker: Kate Swanson | Executive Pastor
WORKSHOP C
Wednesday | October 7 | 10:45AM
These workshop options will be available for only the Workshop C session.
A practical, engaging workshop designed to help you plan well at every stage of life. Using the “Big Five” framework – Spiritual, Mental/Emotional, Social, Physical, and Financial – we’ll walk through the specific challenges, opportunities, and decisions that define three key life seasons. Whether you’re just starting out, hitting your stride, or stepping into your next chapter, you’ll leave with planning tips, trusted resources, and a clearer picture of what a preferred future looks like. This isn’t a workshop about getting older, it’s about getting intentional in every season of life.
Speaker: Ann & Jared Roth
The most generous churches aren’t always the biggest ones, but they’re the most intentional. This workshop equips Lead Pastors with a clear, practical approach to structuring their budget and support team around the mission rather than around maintenance. You’ll explore percentage-based frameworks for financial stewardship, identify what’s truly essential, and discover how operating leaner in the right places creates more capacity to give, serve, and reach your community.
Speaker: Michael Wittwer & Dave Bushnell
Speaker: Russell Joyce & Trey Lara
Most church leadership resources are written for fully staffed, large churches or church plants but a 200 or less congregation is the majority of churches in the US. We’ll tackle the honest realities of leading at this size: building a team culture, making the shift from caregiver to equipper, and we’ll look at why this cultural moment may actually favor the standard-size church with authenticity over production, smaller communities, and real friendships. Let’s learn how to lean into your structural strengths without losing what makes you, you.
Speaker: Peter Bonnano
Holding a traditional sexual ethic and genuinely caring for LGBTQ people are not in conflict — but many churches feel this tension anyway. Based on the book Love All Our Neighbors: How Churches That Hold a Traditional Sexual Ethic Can Care for LGBTQ People, this session helps pastors and ministry leaders navigate the space between cruelty and compromise; which is Christlike ministry towards LGBTQ people. Learn how to lead your church toward genuine care and compassion without compromising orthodox theology.
Speaker: Tony Scarcello
What makes discipleship actually work and last? This session digs into the core practices and postures of effective discipleship leadership. Whether you’re leading a small group, a discipleship cohort, or an entire ministry pathway, you’ll gain practical tools for training others, navigating the messy middle of people’s growth, and building a discipleship culture that outlasts any single program or season.
Speaker: Brandon Hubbel
Every church is different — different budgets, different capacities, different congregations. But everyone who serve on worship share the same calling: to create an environment where people encounter God. This session explores the core posture and practices that translate across any context — from modeling authentic worship, to structuring sets that serve the message, to building a team that’s growing in faith and skill.
Speaker: Casey Parnell
