THE SPREADING FLAME

Jesus’ promise—“I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail” (Matthew 16:18) is not a call to complacency but an invitation to Holy Spirit-driven expectancy. Every generation faces the reality that the Church is always one generation from extinction. Yet history proves that when leaders and communities commit to
confessing Christ boldly,
sharing faith freely,
reaching nations sacrificially,
and raising up future leaders selflessly,
the Church thrives from generation to generation.

This year at FLC, we will lean into this expectancy as we focus on reaching and raising up the next generation. We hope to begin a conversation around these questions:
Who are they?
How do we build meaningful community?
How do we spread the Flame within us and
How will we transition leadership with hope and purpose?

With expectancy and hope…

WHO IS INVITED?

Foursquare Leader Conference is for anyone ready to grow in ministry—pastors, leaders, college students, FMI Workers, future planters, and those still discovering their calling. This isn’t just for you—it’s for your whole team. When you register 5 or more people at once, you’ll get $10 off each registration*. So don’t come alone. Bring the people you serve and lead with, and get equipped together.

*Offer excludes NextGen and Forerunner rates

Spanish translation will be provided at all locations, and Mandarin translation will be available specifically in Las Vegas.

SCHEDULE

SPEAKERS

CARLSBAD

Becky Johnson is the Lead Pastor of Jesus Culture Sacramento, which she helped plant. She served as Youth Pastor for eight years and Executive Pastor for three. Passionate about helping people experience the transformative love and power of God, Becky is dedicated to seeing others encounter His life-changing presence that radically impacted her as a teenager. In addition to her leadership at the church, Becky considers it a true honor to travel and preach, equipping others with her heart for the local church and the next generation. She and her husband, Derek Johnson—Worship Pastor at Jesus Culture Sacramento—have three lovely children and live in Northern California.

CARLSBAD

Pastor Martin Ruarte serves as the Hispanic District Supervisor for the International Foursquare Church. His passion is developing leaders and helping them grow together in mission. He supports and equips leaders through recruiting, training, and sending, all rooted in the church’s mission and identity.

Martin has served in various local church roles, including administrator, co-pastor, and church planter. At the district level, he has been an Assistant Supervisor and Multi-Ethnic Hispanic Director.

Originally from Mendoza, Argentina, Martin moved to the U.S. at age 20. He completed Bible training, received ministerial credentials in 2004, earned a B.S. in Business with a focus in accounting, and later a Master of Arts in Strategic Leadership from Life Pacific University in 2019. He and his wife, Angela, have been married over 20 years and live in Denver, Colorado, with their three children.

FOLSOM + LAS VEGAS

Grant Skeldon has a passion for uniting diverse and dynamic young leaders to reach the next generation. He serves as the Next Gen Director for THINQ with Gabe and Rebekah Lyons. THINQ helps people think well about the most pressing issues in culture and create conversations that lead to wisdom

His book, The Passion Generation, has helped thousands of pastors and leaders to reach, raise, and retain the next generation.

Grant and his wife, Cheyanne, live in Nashville, Tennessee, where he serves on the preaching team at Way Church—a thriving church plant where hundreds of young people are surrendering to Jesus and embracing their calling as missionaries in the city.

NEXTGEN PROGRAMMING

Nursery to 5th Grade

We are excited to offer dedicated programming for NextGen from nursery through 5th grade during every session. Our team has thoughtfully prepared age-appropriate activities, worship, and teaching to help children grow in their faith while having fun in a safe and engaging environment. Parents can attend sessions knowing their kids are being cared for and spiritually nurtured.

Jr. High +
High School

We encourage all our junior high and high school students to join us in the general sessions, where they can experience powerful worship and teaching alongside the larger church community. In addition, we’ve planned a special youth outing on Day Two—a fun and meaningful time designed just for them to build friendships and make lasting memories.

LUNCH CONNECTIONS

In every ministry, culture either happens by default or by design. This lunch connection is designed for pastors and church leaders who are ready to be intentional about shaping the environment of their ministries. Join us as we explore the foundational principles of culture building—how values, behaviors, language, and leadership create the spiritual and relational atmosphere that fuels healthy growth.

Presenter: TBD

Change is inevitable, but how your team responds to it can determine the health and future of your ministry. In this timely and practical lunch connection, pastors and leaders will learn how to build and lead teams that don’t just tolerate change but embrace it with faith, unity, and purpose.

Presenter: TBD

In this breakout session, Mark Slomka and Grace Kladnik invite church leaders into a bold and honest conversation about the challenges and opportunities of men and women leading together in ministry. With an egalitarian framework rooted in Scripture, we’ll explore how to build healthy, respectful partnerships that reflect the full image of God. We’ll also critically examine the Billy Graham Rule—its origins, its impact on women in leadership, and how it may unintentionally hinder the mission of the Church. Together, we’ll discuss practical ways to foster trust and cultivate a culture of mutual honor and shared calling.

Presenters: Mark Slomka + Grace Kladnik

When Jesus commissioned his disciples to go and make other disciples, he called them to the nations. Over 2000 years later, the mission is the same, and the call to the nations is still relevant, whether you find yourself in Cedar City or Croatia, Los Angeles or Lebanon, Reno or Romania, Tempe or Tunisia. Join us [Johanna Oddo + Jennifer Thigpenn] for an interactive discussion about how to partner with and participate in the work of God around the corner and across the world!

Caring for the next generation means that kids and youth are not only loved, but also protected AND that their parents are equipped for at home discipleship. In this session, we’ll discover more about Foursquare NextGen’s Cornerstone project and the updated child and youth protection manual

As leaders, we must tackle the practical obstacles that our own limitations create. A team often cannot surpass the constraints of its leader. Whether these limitations stem from personality, lack of development, or blind spots, they can hinder our team’s success and effectiveness. In this session, we’ll discuss how to identify these constraints, foster a culture of feedback, and use practical tools to overcome these challenges. You’ll learn how to remove these barriers and help your team thrive as you grow and thrive yourself.
