How do I know if I am eligible to vote?
In order to vote by absentee ballot, a minister must meet the following eligibility requirements:
5.5 Members Entitled to Vote on Convention Business
B. Licensed ministers of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel holding active status under the provision of these Bylaws and whose credential fees are paid current at the time the convention convenes or when an absentee ballot is requested. A minister whose credential fees are not current at the time the convention convenes or when an absentee ballot is requested will not be privileged to vote.
Do I have to register for convention in order to vote by absentee ballot?
No, you do not have to register for convention in order to vote by absentee ballot. An eligible minister who wants to vote by absentee ballot (See bylaw listed above.) must register to receive an absentee ballot. This registration is free; no fee is required.
I’m going to attend convention, but I prefer to vote by absentee ballot. Is that possible?
A credentialed minister who registers to attend convention may also register for absentee voting.
What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot?
All requests for absentee ballots must be received not later than Thursday, May 8. That means that, if the written request form is used, it must be received (not postmarked) by May 8. All requests for ballots after May 8 will be denied; voting by absentee ballot will not be an option at that point.
What is the deadline for returning a marked absentee ballot?
All marked ballots must be received by the accounting firm (Romberger, Wilson & Beeson, Inc.) no later than Friday, May 23. Again, that is the date the ballots must be received; it is not enough that ballots be postmarked by that date.
Can I take my absentee ballot with me to convention and cast it on site?
No absentee ballots may be cast at convention. Furthermore, a credentialed minister who requests and is mailed an absentee ballot—even if the ballot is not marked and returned—will not be able to receive a ballot at convention in order to be able to vote on the ratification issue.
I didn’t request my absentee ballot in time, but I would still like to vote. Is that possible?
A credentialed minister who does not register for absentee voting or who misses the deadline for requesting a ballot will be able to receive a ballot and vote at convention if he or she registers for and attends convention.
I lost my ballot. Can I get a replacement?
ICFG is not responsible for lost or missing ballots, either those that were issued at convention or those that were sent to allow absentee voting. Ballots will not be replaced under any circumstances.
