How to get it
How are local churches responding to the Great Commission opportunity that comes with immigrants, refugees and international students arriving in their communities?
Foursquare has always had missions as a primary impulse, to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to all people. Traditional missions mindsets had missionaries leaving their own countries of origin and crossing cultural divides into new nations and people groups.
But as the world has grown smaller, with travel, opportunity and ongoing unrest driving many from their nations of origin, the world is no longer only “out there”—it is in our neighborhoods and within the reach of our local churches.
Missio Nexus is an organization that equips individuals, groups and churches with resources that will help them in fulfilling the Great Commission call today, in their own contexts.
To that end, the Church Connection Tour is coming to five cities (Baltimore, Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago and Atlanta) in June. Each one-day event will feature presentations from J.D. Payne, Steve Moore, Matthew Soerens, Damon Schroeder and Casely Essamuah, all experts seeking to help pastors, church planters and missions leaders explore approaches, resources and partnerships for developing church-based ministry to immigrants, refugees and international students.
Registration is $69 per individual, and discounted rates are available for groups of two or more.
Foursquare churches interested in expanding their reach to the world in their own neighborhoods should consider attending this affordable event, which includes lunch in the registration cost.
