How to get it
During the flurry of ministry activities, outreaches, sermons, meetings and events, Southwest District Supervisor Kimberly Dirmann calls leaders not to a life of ministry activity but to the simplicity of a heart fully surrendered to Christ.
In this session from Foursquare Connection 2013 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Kimberly describes an encounter she had with the Lord in which He asked her if she was satisfied simply spending time in His presence. She says her life was transformed when she read David’s dialogue with the Lord in Psalm 27:4:
“One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple” (NKJV).
“Titles will come and go, and people in our churches will change,” Kimberly reminds leaders. The real questions to be answered, she says, are: Are you enraptured with God alone? If God said to you today that your assignment is over, would you be satisfied with a simple relationship with Christ?
This is a message well suited for individual viewing or a devotional setting, and would also be effective in a worship service when personal devotion to Christ is the theme.
