Missionary Spotlight: Bryant and Patty Sabandal

Even though it’s thought of as a Christian nation, the Philippines is predominately Catholic and largely unchurched. But great things are happening through the 1,827 Foursquare churches there. As directors of Children of Hope, Bryant and Patty Sabandal are launching preschools in Foursquare churches as a way to evangelize and offer children a quality education that many otherwise could never afford.

Relief Efforts in Japan Are Underway

Foursquare church members from across the U.S. have responded generously to the crisis in Japan, and relief efforts are underway as teams prepare to travel to the island nation this summer. More than $200,000 has been donated via Foursquare Missions International, and through a partnership between Foursquare and CRASH Japan, many opportunities to go help out are available.

Wife Continues Missions Work After Husband’s Death

Longtime Foursquare lay leaders Bill and Ginger Hoeben refused the easy chair when it was time to retire. Instead, they put their collective professional gifts and passion for Christian service to good use, serving alongside full-time missionaries in Mexico. Bill died unexpectedly on April 28, but Ginger is carrying on their ministry.

Team Helps Rebuild Orphanage in Haiti

A team of 19 people from various congregations traveled to Haiti in September to help rebuild an orphanage that had been destroyed in the devastating January earthquake. Led by Matt and Heidi Messner, senior pastors of Faith Center in Eureka, Calif., the team did construction work, and held a camp for displaced orphans and children in the surrounding community.
