Purpose of the position: Our Student ministry exists to reach students who are far from God and help them become fully devoted followers of Christ. We want to learn how to celebrate together, connect with each other and teach students how they can contribute. Our ultimate purpose is to enable everyone to obey the commands of Jesus to Go make disciples that none would perish.

Goals for the position: Create an atmosphere for students to have an encounter with the Living God. Ensure that the teachings are relevant to where students are at in their lives. Allow time for the Holy Spirit to speak, convict, heal and minister to the students.

Our Focus:  Teaching students about their true Identity in Christ. Teaching students they are uniquely made in the image of God. Teaching students to be contributors in the body of Christ.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead weekly youth gatherings (Wednesday evenings/Sunday mornings) and plan monthly youth events.
  • Develop a team ministry concept, with leadership opportunities that involve parents, motivated youth, interested and “called” adults & young adults.
  • Work with team members to plan and coordinate large youth events, camps and possible mission trips.
  • Develop and maintain successful lines of communication with youth, their parents and other ministries within the church for maximum opportunity of involvement.
  • Be willing and available to lead or assist Jr. High students with ministry opportunities.
  • Cultivate relationships, attending important events in the lives of youth.
  • Work with church and community leaders to conduct community outreaches and activities that target our neighboring youth and families when opportunity arises.
  • Work with the pastors to care and counsel families in need.
  • Maintain highly sensitive information and confidentiality.
  • Attend staff meetings and other appropriate meetings.
  • Other activities of service around the church as requested by Lead Pastor.

  • A servant’s heart that maintains a strong, consistent devotional life
  • Organized, dependable, able to give and follow directions
  • A leader that brings out the best in the team, empowering them, while raising up new leaders

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Attending college, ministry school for youth ministry or interning at a current youth ministry.
  • Ability to lead youth in worship musically is not necessary, but is favorable.

Additional Information:

  • Please provide a written testimony of how you came to know Jesus Christ as your personal savior, and any other important events that have led to your calling to minister to youth.
  • Please provide a current resume that includes your work experience, both secular and ministerial, both paid and volunteer, and includes three references.
  • Please provide three letters of recommendation as well.
