Student Ministries Pastor

Evergreen Christian Center (Hillsboro Foursquare Church) in Hillsboro, Ore., is seeking a full-time student ministries pastor. This role gives leadership to a volunteer team that helps students in 7th grade through college (up to age 24) find and follow Jesus by fully integrating in the life of the Evergreen community.


  • Identify, recruit and develop leaders for each age group: middle, high school and college. Provide quarterly training and team-building activities for leadership teams.
  • In collaboration with our middle school director, create and facilitate weekly youth gatherings for a diverse group of students in 7th-12th grades with worship, teaching, games and prayer.
  • Regularly teach at the weekly youth gatherings with opportunities for developing teachers and invited guests.
  • Oversee and collaborate with the current leadership of the middle school ministry.
  • Evangelize and disciple college-age students in the area, provide an opportunity where they connect, grow, and leadership is cultivated.
  • Oversee events for youth (camps, conferences, retreats, outings, etc.) from planning, implementation, budget and evaluation.
  • Identify, recruit, and develop student leaders for gift-oriented ministry in the larger Evergreen community (eKids, worship, sound + media, usher team, etc.) and beyond.
  • Provide small group experiences that meet students across the discipleship pathway. Always with the intention of helping students take their next best step.
  • Provide opportunities for students to give of their time, talent and treasure here, near and far, including church wide opportunities as well as youth specific opportunities.
  • Give leadership to engaging and intentional digital presence via our established social media platforms.
  • Regularly communicate with parents about events, teaching and overall direction of the student ministry.
  • Establish an influential presence at nearby Hillsboro public middle and high schools.
  • Oversee the tracking of missional results and stories in the lives of youth: salvations, baptisms, small group participation, attendance, giving time, talent and treasures.
  • Participate with the pastoral team in regular team meetings, retreats or “all hands-on deck” events.
  • Participate in Sunday services as a service emcee and developing teaching team member.

Pay will be based on education and experience.


  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • Experience or willingness to learn to work with students with various social and developmental needs.
