Church Treasurer

Dayspring Christian Center is a church family that is wildly in love with Jesus and excited for the opportunity to be His hands and feet in Central Oregon.

We are looking for someone with experience as a treasurer/book keeper/accountant, preferably experience with nonprofits or fund accounting; familiar with Microsoft Office and accounting software.

The job responsibilities would include:

  • Collects, sorts, and records the amounts of tithes each Sunday after services and from online giving.
  • Accepts donations on behalf of the church and records the amount and the donors name for tax purposes, preparing year-end contribution statements
  • Keeps detailed records of all financial transactions.
  • Deposits the funds into the church’s bank account and maintains receipts for records.
  • Pays all bills and reimbursements.
  • Pays employees and maintains tax records of employee salaries, donor information, spending habits, and more.
  • Files the church’s quarterly payroll and year-end reports with a registered CPA for W-2’s and 1099s and keeps and files all records regarding such transactions.
  • Reconciles church bank statements, credit card statements & petty cash.
  • Tracks investments and records quarterly earnings.
  • Presents an annual budget & financial statement on the church’s finances to church members.
  • Participates in any financial audits.
  • Inspires confidence from the congregation and the church executive staff as to his or her integrity and ability.
  • Attends monthly meetings with the church council with completed financial statements and stays aware of any upcoming expenses, events, or changes to the church’s operation.

Pay would be determined based on experience.
