We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Church Planter to help establish a thriving, missional church in Rio Rancho, New Mexico—a growing city in the Albuquerque metropolitan area. This is an exciting opportunity to serve in a region steeped in rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes and a diverse population. As New Mexico continues to grow, Rio Rancho presents a fertile ground for church planting and reaching a dynamic community with the gospel.

New Mexico, often referred to as the “Land of Enchantment,” offers a unique blend of cultural richness and natural beauty, making it a remarkable place to live and serve. The church planter will have the opportunity to reach people from a variety of backgrounds, including Hispanic/Latino, Native American and Anglo populations, while engaging in ministry within a rapidly developing city with deep historical roots.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A Visionary Leader: A church planter with a heart for reaching diverse communities, including Hispanic, Native American and Anglo populations. This individual should be passionate about building a relational, multi-cultural and missional church in a growing city.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: The ideal candidate will understand and appreciate the unique cultural dynamics of New Mexico, including the influence of Native American tribes (Pueblo, Navajo, Apache) and the rich Hispanic heritage. The planter should be able to connect with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds while maintaining a focus on the gospel as the foundation of all ministry.
  • Community Engagement: Someone who is able to engage with the community through service, outreach and building relationships. This individual should be prepared to start from the ground up, developing a core team and creating opportunities for connection within the city.
  • Missional Mindset: A church planter who is passionate about outreach, community service and discipleship. This person should be eager to establish a church that is not only a place of worship but also a hub for the local community, addressing both spiritual and practical needs.
  • Resilient + Adaptable: Given the challenges New Mexico faces—including a higher crime rate and unique socio-economic conditions—the church planter should be resilient, adaptable and committed to seeing God’s work through, no matter the obstacles.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in church planting or a strong desire to be trained and equipped for church planting
  • A deep understanding of and respect for New Mexico’s diverse cultural landscape, including the state’s Hispanic, Native American and Anglo communities
  • A passion for multi-cultural ministry and community outreach
  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to connect with people from various backgrounds and life stages
  • A heart for evangelism and discipleship
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, able to work independently and build a team from the ground up
  • Previous ministry experience is preferred; experience in church planting or revitalization is a plus
