2024 Wichita Annual Foursquare Chaplains Training

Our Wichita Chaplains Training will take place on Friday, July 26 and continue through Saturday, July 27 and will be held at the Wichita Foursquare Church. The event begins at 6:30pm on Friday, July 26, and will end at 4:30pm on Saturday, July 27.

The Chaplain Training is designed for not only Foursquare chaplains, chaplain candidates, and their spouses, but also for all who are interested in pursuing the calling to minister as a chaplain.

Foursquare Chaplains is excited to announce the theme of this year’s training, Foursquare Identity: Adaptive Ministry in a Diverse and Changing World. We are holding our trainings in 2 different locations (Portland, OR and Wichita, KS). These trainings are designed to be more affordable and accessible than our previous Foursquare Connection Training model. As always, our training will provide evidence-based sessions to enhance the delivery of chaplain care to the vast variety of assignments.

This year, our FCI Trainings will focus on this theme and reflect upon questions such as:

1. How do chaplains cultivate and grow in understanding of their own identity?
2. How do chaplains deliver care in different contexts and rapidly changing environments?

In this focus of identity and adaptive ministry practice, our sessions will include these goals:

1. Discover how our Foursquare Identity Keystones and culture uniquely prepare and equip us to navigate the disruption and challenges of our world.
2. Understand cultural humility to deliver excellent, presence-practice care, regardless of the context.
3. Identify relevant and evidence-based demographic and cultural trends, including diversity and inclusion.
4. Explore the importance of presence in every chaplain outpost, with special and careful attention to crisis, bereavement, and a continuum of care to those under our care.
5. Integrate a practical soul-care rhythm and chaplain resilience into each of our chaplain assignments, platforms, and systems.

Friday
5:30-6:30pm – Registration check-in
6:30-7:30pm – Training meal
7:30-9:00pm – Opening session

Saturday
8:30-9:00am – Fellowship
9:00am-12:30pm – Training session 1-2
12:30-1:30pm – Training meal
1:30-3:30pm – Training session 3
3:15-4:30pm – Closing session

This year, we will have early bird registration, regular registration, and at-the-door registration. We will also live stream the Training:

• Early bird (ends 6/1): $75
• Regular (6/2-7/25): $100
• Door (7/26): $125
• Livestream: $25

PLEASE NOTE: we will not be providing childcare at these trainings. 

If you will be attending the training and are scheduled to receive a service award as a Foursquare minister this year, please let us know in the registration process so we can make the appropriate arrangements to honor you at the training.
