Canvas is a web-based Learning Management System (LMS) supported by the National Church Office. It allows districts, institutes and churches to host and support their own learning communities around a large range of personal and professional training and educational goals. Available in 13 languages, Canvas can facilitate classes, live video stream sessions and collaborative groups, just to name a few. For a full list of features, download some helpful information on Canvas.
You need to be enrolled in a course as a student, observer, teacher’s assistant, teacher, course designer or administrator to access Canvas. However, if you would like to see what Canvas looks like, we invite you to sign up for the Foursquare Canvas Introduction Training.
If you are interested in the possibility of having your own Canvas account, here is what you need to know:
Canvas is free for every credentialed Foursquare minister as it is provided for, in part, by the annual credential fee.
To cover the user fees incurred by the National Church office, Canvas is available to all other individuals with a $40 per year access fee. This fee gives individual access to all courses, classes or other training opportunities available through the Foursquare Course Catalog.
This small access fee provides churches and institutes with a high quality LMS at a rate competitive to the actual expenses of most self-hosted/free systems (when calculating in the associated incurred costs of personnel, web hosting and update management).
