
Mark Slomka
District Supervisor
Mark serves as the District Supervisor and is focused on the target of more and growing leaders together on mission. The supervisor will champion the recruitment, development and sending of leaders through our missiology and identity.
Prior to becoming a pastor, in his formative years, Mark appeared on the Mickey Mouse Club, was raised with Rin Tin Tin and learned to play guitar from Stephen Stills, Jackson Browne and James Taylor. These days Mark’s ministry priorities are kingdom saturation, pastoral influence and multiplication. He has over 35 years of experience as a pastor, and he and his wife, Carol, once lived in England, where they focused on charismatic church renewal and evangelism and enjoyed the challenges and joys of living in an intentional extended community.
Mark is married to Carol (47 years this summer) and is blessed with 4 daughters — Alison (married to Chris), Catherine (married to Jeremiah), Bethany, Danielle, twin grandchildren, and Murphy — his four-legged friend and confessor. Music, sports, reading, photography, aquariums (currently down), movies, travel, and friends around the globe make life undeservingly beautiful and bountiful.

Grace Kladnik
Associate Supervisor
Grace serves as an Associate Supervisor with the primary responsibility of the target of more and growing leaders together on mission and works in collaboration, partnership and support of the supervisor.
Grace Kladnik grew up as a Foursquare pastor’s kid, cultivating a deep love for ministry from an early age. She has served as an FMI worker to Australia, a church planter, and a Senior Pastor in Los Angeles for over a decade, where she launched a thriving thrift store and food distribution ministry to serve those in need. Passionate about equipping and empowering others, she founded She Leads, a women’s leadership program designed to raise up strong, faith-filled leaders. Now, as an Associate Supervisor for the Foursquare denomination, Grace continues to lead with humor, authenticity, and a prophetic voice that inspires and equips others. She and her husband live in Southern California with their three daughters.

Tim Russell
Associate Supervisor
Tim serves as an Associate Supervisor with the primary responsibility of the target of more and growing leaders together on mission and works in collaboration, partnership and support of the supervisor.
Tim Russell has served as a Senior Pastor for various churches in the Bay Area for over 30 years. Tim is the Regional Director for Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center working directly in underserved and under-resourced communities helping individuals transform their lives through entrepreneurship training.
Tim’s passion centers around helping individuals find and walk in their designed purpose. Tim is the author of Conquer or Be Conquered, co-author of on a book project entitled Rising from the Ruins, which details his journey of overcoming functional depression.
Timothy is married to Vanessa Russell and together they have seven children, five adult kids and two teenagers still at home. Their lives are dedicated to their ministry, their family and the communities they serve.
Joe Hernandez
Associate Supervisor
Joe serves as an Associate Supervisor with the primary responsibility of the target of more and growing leaders together on mission and works in collaboration, partnership and support of the supervisor.
Originally from El Salvador, Joe immigrated to the U.S. as a teenager and experienced a life-changing encounter with Christ in 1988 at Angelus Temple Hispanic. He soon answered the call to ministry, graduating as salutatorian from Angelus Bible Institute in 1991 and later earning a Master of Arts in Strategic Leadership from Life Pacific University in 2019. Alongside his wife, Evelyn, Joe co-pastored Worshipwalk Church in Burbank, CA, fostering leadership development and community impact in a multilingual, multicultural setting. A key figure in Foursquare’s Hispanic ministries, he has served on the National Hispanic Commission and worked to strengthen Hispanic congregations nationwide. With a background in project management and IT consulting for major corporations, Joe blends business expertise with ministry vision, equipping churches and pastors with clarity, strategy, and leadership insight.
Leland Rounds
District Administrator
Leland focuses on the implementation and exercise of administrative processes that simplify administration and maximize ministry for the district.
Prior to joining the Western District team, Leland served as District Administrator for the North Pacific District and, before that, pastored Whatcom Foursquare Church in Bellingham, WA. Leland attended LIFE Pacific in San Dimas, CA as part of his undergraduate education, though he graduated from Northwest University (Kirkland, WA) with a B.A. in History. For nearly 20 years he has served Foursquare churches in a variety of capacities and is excited to practically support and pastorally serve the pastors and churches of the Western District in this new season. Leland, his wife Ashley, their two children and two pets (dog and cat) have recently relocated to Arizona from Washington state. Despite this new reality, as a lifelong Seattle sports fan he remains committed to both the Mariners and the Seahawks.
Karnel Watkins
Administrative Support
Karnel focuses on the implementation and exercise of administrative processes that maximize ministry, serves as the first impression of the district office and helps the district staff provide the best care possible for our district pastors and churches.
Karnel is an ordained Foursquare minister and Senior Pastor of Sweetwater Church in Reseda. She and husband Greg planted Sweetwater Church in Chatsworth, in 2020. She previously served as assisting minister at Freedom Church (San Fernando Valley Freedom Foursquare Church).
Karnel has a passion for seeing lives transformed as well as caring for the hurting and lost.
She loves spending time with her family, playing obscure board games, and watching movies. She and Greg have been married for 37 years and have 3 sons who serve in ministry.
Lisa Wykes
Administrative Support
Lisa proactively supports the district team in administrative processes and will serve within the district in a peer workgroup for the purposes of discovery, collaboration, and growth.
Lisa has been in ministry leadership for over 20 years, 10 of which as a licensed Foursquare minister. She served as an Assisting Minister at Sonoita Foursquare Church in Southern AZ, where her parents were the founding pastors, until 2018 when she and her family moved to the Phoenix area. Since then she has been serving at The Springs Church, Chandler as the Prayer and Outreach Pastor. Lisa and her husband Howard have been married for 29 years and have two beautiful daughters.
Brittany Johnstone
District Communications + Events Coordinator
Brittany supports the district in partnership with the Communications Team by leading, developing and facilitating all district communications as well as planning and managing events of varying sizes and purposes.
Brittany is an ordained Foursquare minister dedicated to serving her local church in Menifee, CA. She previously held the role of NextGen Coordinator for the historic Pacific Southwest District, where she invested in the next generation of leaders. Brittany and her husband, Colton, cherish Saturday mornings filled with coffee, breakfast, and quality time with their daughters, Harlow and Alicia, along with their beloved four-legged companion, Buddy.
Johanna Oddo
District Mission Mobilizer
Johanna is responsible to serve as a bridge between local churches, districts, shared mission, and global mission to the nations near and far, focusing on recruitment, mobilization and collaboration.
Johanna has a passion for developing connecting and encouraging individuals to step into missions opportunities both here and abroad. She also serves with Foursquare Disaster Relief in bringing tangible aid to people in times of crisis. In addition to missions, she is currently ministering alongside her husband as Lead Pastors at The Bridge Church in Rancho Santa Margarita. She’s a gifted networker, loves identifying and releasing leaders, has church planted, and led global missions teams. She graduated from Azusa Pacific University. She says “always your passport ready – you just don’t know where God is calling you!” Married to her husband for 25 years. Two Sons. Coffee. Dodgers. Labradors. Mountains are always calling. Buffalo Bills + USC football. Trees.
Jennifer Thigpenn
Multiethnic Ministry Coordinator
Jennifer is responsible for the identification, recruitment and development of the immigrant and non-majority culture churches and leaders within a district’s geography.
Jennifer is passionate about seeing people love God and their neighbors well and desires to develop leaders of all generations, languages, ethnicities, and abilities in an effort to see the kingdom of God expanded into every community. Jennifer also serves as an adjunct professor at Life Pacific University and the Executive Pastor at Pasadena Foursquare Church.
Dan Britton
NextGen Coordinator
Dan is responsible for supporting the District Supervisor, in partnership with the National Nextgen Coordinator, in the overall resourcing and leadership of this district’s local church NextGen ministries.
Dan, a California native, began full-time ministry as a youth pastor in Southern California after earning his bachelor’s degree in Christian education from Biola University. After marrying and starting a family, he pursued further education, completing a master’s program at Biola. For over 20 years, he has been dedicated to serving the next generation in local churches and school campuses. An avid outdoorsman, Dan enjoys fishing, surfing, and stand-up paddleboarding. For the past 12 years, he has lived and served in Placer County, Northern California, alongside his wife, Susan, and their two teenage children, Melissa and Evan.
