Foursquare President Glenn Burris Jr. invites Foursquare leaders to read through the four Gospels four times during 2012. Each quarter, we will focus on one of the attributes of Jesus Christ and His fourfold ministry.

As we begin 2012, Foursquare President Glenn Burris Jr. invites The Foursquare Church on a Bible-reading journey through Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. By following the Foursquare daily reading plan, we will read each gospel four times during the year.

Each quarter we will focus on the following themes:

  • Jesus our Savior (Jan. 1–March 31)
  • Jesus our Healer (April 1–June 27)
  • Jesus our Baptizer with the Holy Spirit (June 28–Sept. 24)
  • Jesus our Soon-Coming King (Sept. 25–Dec. 31)

To help guide us through our systematic reading of the Gospels, we have also created daily Bible reading bookmarks with a checklist so we can all be reading the same verses on the same day. Simply print it out, cut out the bookmarks, and you are ready to get started on Jan. 1, 2012, or whenever you choose to begin.

In addition, the weekly Foursquare Leader Prayer emails will feature devotionals from the Gospels. These inspirational devotionals will be written by Foursquare leaders in the U.S. and around the world.

Speaking about the 2012 Bible reading plan, Glenn Burris Jr. recently wrote: “The church is often known more for what it stands against than what it stands for. My prayer is that The Foursquare Church will be known … as a movement that contends for the entrance of the power of the Spirit into every facet of our lives and ministries. May our fellowship rediscover who He is and, in so doing, find our voice again as Salt and Light to this generation.”
