Ministries Merge to Form Foursquare Disaster Relief

To better respond to those needing help following natural and manmade disasters both in the U.S. and overseas, two Foursquare entities have merged to form the brand-new Foursquare Disaster Relief. Foursquare Relief and Compassion and the disaster relief ministry of Foursquare Chaplains International have come together under the Foursquare Disaster Relief moniker.

Leaders Invited to Training That Prepares Them for Crisis Situations

It’s not the kind of thing we like to think about—but when tragedy strikes, how prepared are we to minister effectively to people in need? Foursquare Chaplains International provides FEMA-approved training for disaster relief and crisis management via Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) training. In January, 81 leaders gathered for the first training intensive, and more training events are in the works.

Foursquare Helps Tornado-Stricken South (Part 2)

Restoration, a Foursquare church in Madison, Ala., has served as a center for disaster-relief efforts since the terrifying storms hit in April, when at least 300 homes in their community were destroyed. Pastor Huey Hudson says that leading up to the disaster, God prepared the congregation so they would be equipped to meet the daunting needs.

Foursquare churches are overseeing major disaster-recovery efforts in cities devastated by the massive tornado outbreaks this spring. One congregation, in fact, has provided more than 10,000 meals.
