After posting a 54 percent increase in enrollment during the 2010-2011 school year, Life Pacific College (LPC) received the prestigious 2012 Jonathan N. Thigpen Enrollment Growth Award. LPC’s growth rate was the highest among the award’s other co-winners. The award is evidence that the college’s numerous efforts to expand its horizons and train more leaders are working.
It’s not the kind of thing we like to think about—but when tragedy strikes, how prepared are we to minister effectively to people in need? Foursquare Chaplains International provides FEMA-approved training for disaster relief and crisis management via Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) training. In January, 81 leaders gathered for the first training intensive, and more training events are in the works.
For the first time in the history of Foursquare conventions, Spanish-speaking Foursquare pastors will enjoy English/Spanish translation in the business sessions during Foursquare Connection 2012. In addition, the Conexion Hispana general session on Wednesday morning will focus on ministry training and inspiration for Hispanic leaders from the U.S. and around the world.
President Glenn Burris Jr. has encouraged senior pastors to sponsor other ministers to attend Foursquare Connection 2012. Among them are worship leaders, who can benefit from this year’s Connection Track featuring Matt Redman that will allow leaders to grow, learn, network and share their original music. The renowned worship leader also will be leading corporate worship during the evening general sessions.
Taking place March 20–22 on the beautiful campus of Life Pacific College in San Dimas, Calif., the 2012 Foursquare Institute Symposium will emphasize how we can equip new and established leaders with core competencies. Current institute directors and anyone interested in starting a Foursquare institute are encouraged to attend.
