When a major canal in Colombia ruptured in December, following months of heavy rains caused by La Niña, millions of people were suddenly left homeless. Lowlands were flooded with water from the powerful Magdalena River. Countless buildings were submerged, infrastructure destroyed. Nearly 300 people died, and 2.2 million were displaced. At least 40 Foursquare churches were also adversely affected.
