The annual Foursquare Convention 2008 is convening in Houston May 26-29. It's an opportunity for the Foursquare family to come together and be challenged, inspired and encouraged.

Session Speakers
This year's convention has an incredible lineup of speakers, including Pastor Jim Tolle and Bishop J. W. Macklin.

Jim Tolle has been the senior pastor of both The Church On The Way in Van Nuys, Calif., and La Iglesia En El Camino in North Hollywood, Calif., since September 2004. He is an adjunct instructor at Facultad de Teologia and The King’s College and Seminary. He has a daily radio program called Respuestas (Answers). Prior to his current tenure at The Church On The Way, Pastor Jim was the director of Foursquare Missions International.

Bishop J. W. Macklin is a native of San Mateo, Calif., and serves as bishop over the Northern California Prelate of the Church of God in Christ. After serving with his father as an associate minister at New Sweet Home Church in East Palo Alto, Calif., Bishop Macklin founded Glad Tidings Church in 1978. With more than 2,000 members and 40 active ministries, Glad Tidings impacts the heart of the Bay Area and Northern California.

Additional Houston Space Center Tour Now Available
We've added an additional tour option for the Houston Space Center. The added tour will depart the Hilton Americas-Houston at noon and will leave the Houston Space Center to return to the hotel at 3:30 p.m. If you would like to add the tour option to your existing registration, please call the convention service desk at 877.423.4633 and press option No. 1.

Things To Do in Houston
Sure, Houston is part of cowboy country, but there's a lot more to see and do than go to the rodeo:

  • Space Center Houston - Sign up for the convention tour, or go on your own, but don't miss the tram tour of NASA, the chance to experience a space shuttle lifting off in the Blast Off Theater and the interactive presentation Living in Space, which shows how astronauts accomplish the simplest tasks without gravity.
  • Downtown Aquarium - Exhibits include the Louisiana Swamp, a Shipwreck, a Rain Forest, and much more, including rides and a cafeteria.
  • Discovery Green Park - Located directly across from the George R. Brown Convention Center, this 12-acre, $122 million urban park features a one-acre lake, children's playground, interactive water features, public art works and two restaurants.
  • Houston Museum District - Learn more about contemporary art, the Holocaust, animals, cowboys, African-American soldiers by touring some of the 18 museums located in the Houston Museum District.

A breakfast buffet at the Hilton Americas-Houston is included with every registration on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 7 to 8:30 a.m. A voucher will be enclosed with your registration. Children 11-years-old and under can eat free with a registered parent.
