From the energy and ingenuity of the young to the wisdom and experience of senior adults, every member of the Foursquare family has something valuable to contribute. The Foursquare Church looks to support up-and-coming leaders looking to serve in the church, as well as retired folks who have served the church well.

Our NextGen ministry not only resources leaders to reach the younger generation but also intentionally identifies rising leaders. This ministry seeks to ensure younger leaders are among our mix of Foursquare ministers.

Each district has a NextGen point person to ensure that pastors serving kids from “cradle to college” are receiving resources and training. Opportunities for camps are also provided.

Foursquare NextGen field practitioner, Ryan Brown, helps to network NextGen representatives from each of the 14 districts.

For more information on serving young people in your church and community, contact your local district and ask to speak to the NextGen representative.

ForeRunners are credentialed ministers in good standing who have retirement status. These vibrant individuals and their spouses, currently more than 2,000 of them, have unique life experiences and strengths that enable them to continue to contribute to the kingdom. Though many of our ForeRunners are no longer engaged in formal ministry, they still are actively influencing the lives of others.

We are very grateful for the legacy of the mothers and fathers of our Foursquare family who paved the way into many of the communities and countries where Foursquare still exists today. In fact, many of our ForeRunners continue serving their local Foursquare churches in various capacities—as assisting pastors, counselors, chaplains, mentors or coaches, international missionary support, and in various other positions. These sage individuals provide a resource community that assists our district supervisors and local churches in passing the baton of ministry and leadership to a new generation.

“The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing.”—Psalm 92:12-14 (NKJV)

Connecting our ForeRunners

The ForeRunners ministry was transferred to the district offices with the intent of expanding its focus and involving more ForeRunners in its leadership. Each district  has a ForeRunner point person who is responsible for connecting with ForeRunners, building teams for care, and partnering with the district office to see that this rich gift is used in various points of district and local ministry. ForeRunners participate by serving in district camps and conferences, transitional pastor appointments, mentoring young leaders and more.
