With all the seminars and quality training available today, it is important for us to realize how much remains a mystery. In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus relates this story of kingdom fruitfulness:
"And He said, 'The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself...'" Mark 4:26-28 (NKJV)
What Jesus desires to communicate to us through this parable is the need for our partnership. Without us He won’t, without Him we can’t. He has given us the invitation to partner with His growth processes—yet even with our knowledge and resources, church growth and development will never be an exact science. There always will be a certain awe regarding how things sprout, grow and reproduce. It is essential that we remember Christ’s partnership also involved a commission. We have been invited to participate in the harvest; however, this does not come without a divine responsibility.
The desire of Foursquare Church Health is to cooperate with God’s growth process in the lives of leaders and churches. This is done through providing resources and helping establish relationships to ensure the health of pastors and the ongoing growth of churches. Whether these resources come in the form of "just in time training," "coaching," "mentoring," or the creative use of technology to link lives and build community, our focus will always be upon the equipping and training of leaders who are engaged in reaching the harvest.
