“The greatest advance of the kingdom will occur as we align everything we do to mobilize the whole church to take the whole gospel to the whole world.” —Glenn Burris Jr.
Those words helped define the focus of President Glenn Burris’ 2016 cabinet report.
A progress report of Reimagine Foursquare was provided, and the concept of Reimagine 2.0 was introduced, taking the agreed direction and determined initiatives from 2014 into a new season. This concept of a new iteration of Reimagine will be discussed further in front of the convention body in May. A key focus is the continued increase to the amount of tithe income that is returned to local churches.
Glenn reiterated the concept that authority, resource and responsibility must be located in in the same place—the local church—and that the heart of “Reimagine 2.0” is not just about Foursquare corporate changes, but a culture of empowerment and Great Commission thinking that should permeate the core of who we are as a movement.
Glenn stated that The Foursquare Church will continue to be united by its shared values. He emphasized the following facts:
- We must be committed to operating according to a heavenly value system instead of an earthly one.
- We must seek God’s presence, not merely His power and blessing.
- God will first liberate people, and then He will empower them to share the Good News with others.
