Overview of Cabinet 2011
Cabinet 2011, which took place in March, discussed many crucial agenda items as they pertain to the life and future of The Foursquare Church. In order to facilitate full disclosure about the goals and future of The Foursquare Church, Foursquare family members are invited to take a look at exactly what was discussed at Cabinet 2011.
President Glenn Burris Jr. unveiled his five targets for the U.S. Foursquare Church, which include U.S. and international growth strategies as well as a new funding model (MP3 download, 60 MB).
Foursquare Missions International Director James C. Scott looked at the current realites of our international outreach efforts, and reminded us why missions remains so vital (MP3 download, 56 MB).
In light of nearly two decades of no growth in the U.S. Foursquare Church, General Supervisor Tammy Dunahoo noted the need to concentrate on leadership, and church health and multiplication in the U.S. Church. She also discussed the current realities of the U.S. Church (MP3 download, 45 MB).
The cabinet also took a closer look at the Four-Stage Development Model. Glenn Burris Jr. and Dennis Easter discuss this important model in a new video, while Daniel Brown wrote an article about the longevity of the model.
Chief Financial Officer Ron Thigpenn has engineered a remarkable turnaround in our ability to both gauge and steward our financial responsibilities. He announced that 2010 ended with a surplus, while a balanced budget is planned for 2011 (MP3 download, 41 MB).
The cabinet reviewed the proposed bylaw amendments, with voting to take place at Connection 2011 in Columbus, Ohio, this May. While two bylaw amendment proposals were recommended for further study—absentee balloting and ministers’ conflict of interest in financial dealings—five amendment proposals can be reviewed now.
