Board of Directors

 
The board of directors comprises the president, vice president, general supervisor, director of missions and members appointed by the president. In addition, several ministers and laymen are elected to the board and represent nine voting regions throughout the United States. The board of directors meets four or five times each year and is responsible for the philosophy and overall ministry of the corporation. The board can and does assign committees to assist in the process of making informed decisions; there are currently 12 committees. An executive committee of the board meets weekly to handle the business matters that demand immediate attention.

Peter Bonanno

Senior Pastor, Grace Capital Church in Concord, N.H.

Peter Bonanno is senior pastor of Grace Capital Church in Concord, N.H. Peter and his wife, Lisa, planted Grace Capital in 1996, and it has since grown to a congregation of more than 1,000. Peter feels called to help the local church equip believers to serve in their gifts. He has helped plant several other churches in New England and built international outreach ministries, sending missionaries into the rest of the world.

Peter currently serves on the Foursquare Cabinet and is a member of the National Church Committee. He served for six years as the District Supervisor for the Northern New England Foursquare District (Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont).

Peter is a graduate of Oral Roberts University. He and Lisa were married in 1988 and have three children.

Sterling Brackett

Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Secretary; The Foursquare Church

Sterling Brackett currently serves The Foursquare Church as the chief operating officer, secretary-treasurer. He also undertakes special projects for the president and serves on the Foursquare board of directors as chairperson of the Building Committee, Executive Committee and the Finance Committee, and is a member of the Governance Committee, Investment Committee (Observer), and the Pastoral Formation and the Education, and Nurture Committee.

In addition to his corporate roles, Sterling pastors an Arabic-speaking church, Family Fellowship Foursquare Church.

During his 35 years of ministry, Sterling has served in a variety of roles. Just prior to assuming his responsibilities at the central offices of the Foursquare Church, he served for 10 and a half years as the president of Life Bible College East in Christiansburg, Va. During his tenure at the Bible college, he planted and pastored the campus church, which became one of the largest churches in the Christiansburg community.

Sterling lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Wanda. They have two married children and four grandchildren.

Glenn C. Burris Jr.

President, The Foursquare Church

President Glenn Burris Jr. graduated from Mount Vernon Bible College in 1976. He served as youth pastor in Concord, N.C., for a year and, in 1977, became a senior pastor in Macon, Ga. He later pastored the Foursquare church in Cornelius, N.C., and has served as a divisional superintendent, a member of the cabinet, and a member of the board of directors where he currently serves on the Building Committee, Bylaw Committee, Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Governance Committee, and the Pastoral Formation, Education, and Nurture Committee.

In 1992, Glenn was appointed district supervisor of the Southeast District; in 2002, he was appointed general supervisor of the U.S. national church. In September 2008, Glenn began leading The Foursquare Church as interim president for a 13-month term. He was then appointed president by the convention voting body, and began serving a five year term on Oct. 1, 2010. His passions are planting churches and caring for pastors.

Greg Campbell

Executive Director, Foursquare Foundation

Dr. Greg Campbell is the executive director of the Foursquare Foundation and has a passion for global evangelism. He also serves on the board of directors for The Foursquare Church as a member of the Building Committee, Finance Committee and the Investment Committee. He is also the former President of King’s College & Seminary, and of Living Way Ministries.

After graduating from Cambridge University in England, Greg obtained his Ph.D. at UCLA. Shortly thereafter, he became the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of PMT (Plasma and Materials Technologies, Inc.), and was honored as Entrepreneur of the Year. After leading PMT to be among the 100 fastest growth companies in the USA, Dr. Campbell became President and General Manager of Etch at LAM Research, Inc., a multi-billion dollar technology company in Silicon Valley, Calif. 

Greg, along with his wife Tamara and their four children, are active members of The Church On The Way in Van Nuys, Calif.

Greg is a non-voting member of the Foursquare board of directors.

Richard Casteel

Pastor, Grace Chapel Foursquare Church in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Richard Casteel has served as the pastor of Grace Chapel Foursquare Church in Scottsdale, Ariz., for more than 20 years. He and his wife, Becky, became aware of The Foursquare Church movement in the late 1970s, after Richard attended a conference led by Pastor Jack Hayford at The Church on The Way in Van Nuys, Calif.

Having grown up on the mission fields of Cuba and Mexico, Pastor Richard began his ministry at a very young age, first preaching at age 16. While in their early 20s, he and Becky planted their first church. The Casteels had previously served on staff at Grace Chapel in Tucson, Ariz., and Richard was appointed as senior pastor of Grace Chapel in Scottsdale in 1987.

As a member of the Foursquare board of directors, Pastor Richard currently serves on the Foursquare Missions Committee and the Southwest District Council, and is the area pastor for the Southwest District. In addition, he serves as the area pastor for Cleansing Stream Ministries in Arizona, and was recently appointed to the Foursquare international board of directors. He previously served as the Arizona district supervisor, overseeing 35 Foursquare churches.

Serving on Foursquare’s Missions Committee, Pastor Richard is able to help Foursquare connect churches on the mission field with local congregations. Some of his most treasured experiences with Foursquare include ministering to leaders in South America and sub-Saharan Africa, as well as participating in historic cabinet meetings.

Pastor Richard says he is “passionate” about his role on the Missions Committee, as “the harvest is greater than it has ever been, so we need to be bolder in our faith than we have ever been before.” Fluent in Spanish, he continues to go on short-term missions trips, focusing his ministry primarily in Latin America.

He and Becky are the parents of three grown children—Andrew, Matthew and Olivia—and have 14 grandchildren.

Bill Chaney

Senior Pastor, Valley Christian Center in Fresno, Calif.

Bill Chaney joined the Foursquare family in 1997 as executive pastor of New Life Center in Bakersfield, Calif. Since his ministry began in 1978 and until he joined Foursquare, Pastor Bill served as youth pastor, music minister, associate pastor and the senior pastor of three churches. In 2000, he became the senior pastor of Faith Center in Eureka, Calif., and in 2010 he became the senior pastor of Valley Christian Center in Fresno, Calif., where he currently serves.

He also has served as divisional superintendent and as a member of the board of directors for The Foursquare Church.

Having done undergraduate studies in business administration at the University of Phoenix and in pastoral leadership at Life Pacific College, Pastor Bill earned a master’s degree in practical theology from The King’s Seminary in Los Angeles.

As a member of the Foursquare board of directors, Pastor Bill serves on the Audit Committee where he helps to oversee the financial reports and information provided by Foursquare to its members and outside parties, including Foursquare’s financial policies, procedures, disclosure controls and procedures; the organization’s system of internal controls; and the auditing, accounting and financial reporting processes. The committee also reviews and approves transactions and appoints and reviews the performance of the organization’s independently registered public-accounting firm.

While he enjoys teaching, leadership development and global missions, Pastor Bill says he is “especially passionate about stewarding our resources wisely to enable more ministry on the field.”

He and his wife, Beth, have two grown children, Derek and Valerie.

Bruce Dow

Chief Executive Officer, Screen Actors Guild—Producers Pension and Health Plan

Bruce Dow has worked in an executive capacity at the Screen Actors Guild-Producers Pension and Health Plan since March 1984. Currently, he serves as the chief executive officer of pension and health plans for the actors group, which has more than 40,000 participants and $2.3 billion in assets.

Bruce has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist.

As a member of Foursquare’s board of directors, Bruce also helps oversee the organization’s financial procedures, policies and controls by serving on the Finance Committee, the Audit Committee, the Investment Committee and as Chairman of the Compensation Committee.

Outside of Foursquare, Bruce also is a member of the Consumer Relations Committee of the board of directors of Anthem Blue Cross of California. Formerly, he was a member of the board of directors of the Delta Dental Company of California and the Dentegra Holding Company for eight years, serving three years as chairman.

Bruce is married to Sharman and is a member of The Church on The Way in Santa Clarita, Calif. The Dows have three daughters and one son, and reside in Valencia, Calif.

Tammy Dunahoo

Vice President of U.S. Operations, General Supervisor; The Foursquare Church

Tammy Dunahoo, general supervisor, has served the Foursquare Church as National Director of Foursquare Women, District Supervisor of Arkansas, as well as a member of the Church Health team, the National Church Council and the Foursquare Cabinet. She currently serves on the Foursquare board of directors, the Foursquare Foundation board, and the board of trustees for Life Pacific College, as well as on numerous committees.

Tammy says she is passionate about healthy leaders and churches multiplying throughout the U.S. until there is “a candle in every community.”

Tammy has been married to her best friend and ministry partner, Gary, for more than 30 years. The Dunahoos have enjoyed ministry assignments as lead pastors, church-planters, life and marriage coaches and conference speakers, but they state their favorite role has been that of “mom and dad” to their two adult children Josh and Ashlee.

Robert Flores

President, Life Pacific College

Life Pacific College president, Robert Flores comes to the position from a background that includes academic study, church planting and seasoned ministry experience. A 1979 graduate of LIFE Bible College, he received his master of divinity degree from Asbury Seminary in 1985, and his doctor of ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2002.

In 1985, he planted North Dallas Foursquare Church in Carrollton, Texas. He subsequently served on staff at Eastside Foursquare Church in Portland, Ore., and, in 1994, planted West Salem Foursquare Church in Salem, Ore., pastoring there 14 years prior to accepting the LPC presidential appointment. He also was superintendent of the Capital Division of the Willamette District from 2002-2008, and has been a member of the board of directors of The Foursquare Church since 2002.

In addition to his role as president of Life Pacific, he also serves The Foursquare Church on the board of directors as chairperson of the Audit Committee, and as a member of the Investment Committee and the Pastoral Formation, Education, and Nurture Committee.

Robert is a non-voting member of the Foursquare board of directors.

Paul Harmon

Pastor, Hope Chapel Huntington Beach in California

Paul Harmon was elected to the board of directors for a six-year term in September 2007. He and his wife, Ainsley, have pastored Hope Chapel Huntington Beach in California since 2002; they were ordained in 1988.

In addition, Pastor Paul currently serves as the divisional superintendent for the Coastal Division of Foursquare Churches and has recently been appointed as area pastor in the Southwest District overseeing Orange County and portions of Riverside County.

The Harmons met at Life Pacific College (also known as LIFE Bible College) in 1980 and were married at the Westminster, Calif., Foursquare church two years later.

While in college, Pastor Paul and Ainsley served as youth pastors for the Azusa Foursquare church. After their graduation from Life in 1985, they assumed the pastorate of the Banning Foursquare Church, where they enjoyed 15 years of fruitful ministry to the desert communities of Riverside County, Calif. During that time Pastor Paul served as divisional superintendent and as a member of the Church Health Team in the Southwest District.

Pastor Paul is a member of the Missions Committee, providing oversight for Foursquare’s international ministry; and the Urban and Multicultural Committee, advising Foursquare leaders on multicultural issues and concerns.

Serving on the Foursquare board, Pastor Paul enjoys motivating young leaders to develop their own healthy spiritual lifestyles that in turn establish new ministries and healthy church plants.

Pastor Paul and Ainsley have one son, two daughters and one son-in-law.

Eric Hulet

Senior Pastor, Grace Community Church in Southlake, Texas

Eric Hulet is the senior pastor of Grace Community Church in Southlake, Texas. Pastor Eric helped plant the church in 1982 and brought the congregation under the Foursquare banner in 1990.

Pastor Eric and his wife, Susan—who have been married since 1973—have planted two congregations out of Grace Community, and also established Mercy House, a ministry offering help and hope to unmarried pregnant women in need of assistance.

With his wife’s support, Eric has served The Foursquare Church as a divisional superintendent, district youth representative, district advisory council member and board of directors member.

Pastor Eric carries a deep commitment to the health of local churches and pastoral leaders, and views his role on the Foursquare board of directors as “a stewardship to empower Foursquare churches to fully reach their kingdom potential in the Great Commission.”

He currently serves Foursquare on the Compensation Committee, which advises on fair and equitable compensation for the denomination’s executive staff; the National Church Committee, which ensures the mission statement of the Foursquare church is being met on every level; and the Governance Committee, which provides guidelines for the legal operations of the church on every level. Pastor Eric says his passion “is that every decision made is consistent with evangelism, discipling nations and extending the kingdom of God.”

Pastor Eric holds a degree in pastoral ministry from Dallas Baptist University. He and Susan have four adult children and four grandchildren.

Marion Ingegneri

Lead Co-Pastor, Grace North Church in Phoenix

Marion Ingegneri is an ordained Foursquare minister and serves as senior pastor of Grace North Church in Phoenix. She also is the author, director and presenter of a DVD series titled “Unlocking the Gifts in You.”

Marion began working with Foursquare Women International in 1990 and served 20 years in a variety of roles including a short time as Director. She also was an Advisory Member, Leadership Development Coordinator and National Field Leader for women in ministry leadership. Following the call to serve women in ministry further, she traveled with the Dare to Dream team, presenting a message to women of empowerment and release.

Marion is the broker/owner of a real-estate firm. She says her understanding of business negotiations and contracts has played a huge part in her role as senior pastor during the acquisition of properties for Grace North Church. Her leadership in the church has branched out internationally, with ministry travels to Australia, South Africa, Brazil and Canada.

Marion and her husband and co-pastor, Joe, have been married since 1972. She calls him “one of my greatest encouragers in ministry.” The Ingegneris have three grown children and six grandchildren.

Jeffrey Kolodziej

Senior Pastor, Cornerstone Chapel Foursquare in Medina, Ohio

Pastor Jeffrey Kolodziej is the founder and senior pastor of Cornerstone Chapel (Medina Foursquare Church) located in Medina Township. He and his wife Mary Jane started the church in 1985 and over the course of their time ministering in Medina, their mission has remained the same: “upreach, outreach and inreach.” This three-fold vision has developed a balanced ministry focus within the church. Starting with the commission to plant a church, with a guitar and with a handful of people, Pastor Jeff and the Cornerstone Chapel congregation have experienced tremendous growth over the years. The small congregation that began in Medina High School is now located on 26 acres between Granger Road and Route 3.

Pastor Jeff formerly served as the Ohio Foursquare district supervisor, is a graduate of the Leadership Medina County class of 2004, and has served a term with the Medina Ministerial Association as president. He is the chairman of the Foursquare Foundation board of directors.

Pastor Jeff is a non-voting member of the Foursquare board of directors.

Jeff Lamont

Senior Pastor, New Song Christian Fellowship in Louisville, Ky.

Jeff Lamont is the senior pastor of New Song Christian Fellowship in Louisville, Ky. Jeff and his wife, Tracy, planted New Song as a Foursquare Church in October 1993. The church has enabled Jeff to be involved in local and global outreach, and he has taken more than 1,000 people to work with Foursquare churches in other nations and facilitated more than 20 foreign-mission outreaches.

Jeff has served as Divisional Superintendent of the state of Kentucky for Foursquare since 1996. Since that time, the number of Foursquare churches in the state has doubled. He also served as a Missions Representative for the historic Southeast District for six years and as the District Missions Representative for the Kentucky/Tennessee District. He currently serves as an Area Pastor for the Mid-Atlantic District and as a member of the District Advisory Council.

Jeff is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a bachelor’s in Communications. He holds a Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. Jeff and Tracy were married in 1987, and they have three children: Hannah, Isaiah and Eliza.

John Long

Senior Pastor, Praise Alive Worship Center in Monterey Park, Calif.

Foursquare board of directors member Pastor John Long has served Foursquare for more than 30 years, and first attended a Foursquare congregation in 1977. He is the senior pastor of Praise Alive Worship Center, a Foursquare church in Monterey Park, Calif. His first professional Foursquare appointment was in 1981, as pastor of the Goleta, Calif., congregation, and he also pastured the North Long Beach congregation.

Pastor John served as district supervisor of the L.A. Northeast Valleys District for two years and supervised 36 churches while working as a senior pastor. Prior to becoming supervisor, he served in the capacity of divisional superintendent for 18 years in the historic Southern California District. A graduate of Life Pacific College (also known as LIFE Bible College), Pastor John also holds a master’s of divinity from Azusa Pacific College. He taught as an adjunct professor at Life from 2001-2006.

Pastor John was recently tapped to serve on both the Governance and Bylaw Committees, which examine and monitor the processes and protocols set up for Foursquare management. He called his election to the Foursquare board “an assignment from the Lord,” remarking, “I have been entrusted by God and my fellow pastors to serve … with every ounce of passion and commitment I have to give.”

He and his wife, Angela, have been married for more than 40 years. They have three children and seven grandchildren.

Tony Maupin

Senior Pastor, Idaho Falls Foursquare Church, Idaho Falls, Idaho

Tony Maupin is the senior pastor of Idaho Falls Foursquare Church, Idaho Falls, Idaho. He is a lifelong native of Eastern Idaho. Tony and his wife, Carol Ann, pioneered the St. Anthony Foursquare Church in 1986. In 1989 he was asked to become the senior pastor of the Idaho Falls Foursquare Church and serve as the Eastern Idaho Divisional Superintendent for the historic Northwest District.

From October 2002 until May 2009, Tony served as the Supervisor for the Mountain River District and presently serves as the Area Superintendent for the Mountain River Division of the newly formed Great Northern District. During the time Tony and Carol Ann have served in Eastern Idaho, an area dominated by Mormonism, they have either directly planted or assisted in planting three Spanish- and six English-speaking churches. They also partnered in opening both the Hispanic Theological Institute of Eastern Idaho and the Mountain River Division Bible Institute.

Tony and Carol Ann have four children and seven grandchildren. Tony has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, and a master’s degree in Economic Development from Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, Calif. His graduate emphasis was in international economic development.

John Mazariegos

District Supervisor, Central Mexico

John Mazariegos was born and raised in Washington, D.C. He and his wife, Robin, serve as Foursquare missionary associates in San Luis Potosi, where they currently live with their six children.

Deeply committed to missionary work, Pastor John also acts as the district supervisor for Central Mexico and serves on Foursquare’s board of directors.

In Mexico, the Mazariegos’ work with missionary teams from Foursquare churches to help inspire believers to discern God’s calling and learn about worldwide evangelism.

Pastor John’s first exposure to the Foursquare church was as a student at Life Pacific College (also known as LIFE Bible College). He holds a master of divinity from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, and helped plant a Foursquare church in Boston while a student there. He also was dean of students at LIFE Bible College East and served as pastor of New Life Foursquare Church in Indian Trail, N.C.

He serves on the National Church Committee, which ensures the mission statement of The Foursquare church is being met on every level; and Urban and Multicultural Committee, which advises Foursquare leaders on multicultural issues and concerns. Pastor John is committed to Foursquare as “a voice for the Hispanic community within our family,” he says.

Pastor John also is the vice president at Angelus Bible Institute.

Ricky Poteat

Senior Pastor, Forest City Foursquare Church in Forest City, N.C.

Robert “Ricky” Poteat is the senior pastor of the Forest City Foursquare Church in Forest City, N.C. The church formed in 1982 as the Gospel Light Tabernacle, and was initiated into the Foursquare denomination in 1984. Pastor Ricky’s previous ministry work includes traveling evangelistic work and shepherding two Missionary Methodist churches.

In his community, Pastor Ricky has volunteered as a chaplain for area hospitals, has served as president of the Forest City Ministerial Association since 2002, has worked on the steering committee for area crusades and helped with the Jesus Video Project in 2003.

Pastor Ricky holds a bachelor’s of religious arts, a master’s of religious arts and a doctor of theology degrees from Jacksonville Theological Seminary in Florida.

Having served as divisional superintendent for Foursquare’s North Carolina Foothills Division since 2003 and now serving on the Foursquare board of directors, Pastor Ricky says he “felt honored for the trust which was placed in me by my fellow ministers in the Southeast. I felt the peace of God to say ‘yes’ when asked by my fellow ministers to serve on the board of directors.”

Pastor Ricky and his wife, Cheryl, were married in 1976 and have been blessed with two children and one grandchild. He enjoys playing golf, refurbishing computer systems and collecting NASCAR memorabilia.

James C. Scott Jr.

Vice President of Global Operations; Director of Foursquare Missions International (FMI)

FMI Director James C. Scott Jr., and his wife, Melinda, are well known throughout The Foursquare Church for their involvement with and love for missions. The Scotts have effectively led congregations in the U.S. as senior pastors and associate pastors in the Southwest District. They have influenced thousands of leaders as supervisors in the Northeast, New England, and Southern California districts.

In addition, Jim has served as chief operations officer (COO) of The Foursquare Church; assistant general supervisor of the Foursquare National Church and as vice president of regional operations; as advisor to Foursquare Church Multiplication; and as regional supervisor of the Southern California/Southwest region. He was a member of the Foursquare board of directors and has served on numerous Foursquare committees.

Jim is a 1975 graduate of California State University at Fresno (B.S. in criminology, minor sociology), a 1981 graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif. (M.A. in theology), and a 2008 graduate of Bakke Graduate University in Seattle, Wash. (D.Min. in church multiplication and leadership development).

Jim’s doctoral dissertation is titled Aimee Semple McPherson and Spanish-Speaking Ministry in Los Angeles: Lessons for the 21st-Century Foursquare Church. The Foursquare Church, through Foursquare Media, has published an adaptation of the dissertation as a book in Spanish titled Aimee—La Gente Hispana Estaba en Su Corazón.

Stan Simmons

Pastor, Faith Chapel in Billings, Mont.

Stan Simmons has been the pastor of Faith Chapel in Billings, Mont., since the summer of 1977. The church has grown from a small congregation to the largest church in Montana. Stan’s ministry has been characterized by a firm commitment to communicate the Scriptures in a relevant and responsible manner. In addition to pastoring Faith Chapel for the last 33 years, Stan served for 18 years as a Division Superintendent of Foursquare Churches in Montana, and for six years as District Supervisor of the North Central District of Foursquare Churches, which included Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota.

The radio broadcast “The Living Word” was an extension of Stan’s teaching ministry for more than 20 years. Stan has taught in Ireland, Holland, Turkey, Greece and Mexico, as well as in many churches in the western United States. He also was privileged to speak at five Foursquare District Conferences and the Foursquare National Convention; an Open Bible District Conference; and an Assembly of God state conference. Faith Chapel sends missions teams to Brazil, to build churches and minister in the inner city; to Ethiopia, to help an orphanage for the children of aids victims; and to the Philippines to build churches and help an orphanage for deaf children.

Stan’s recently published book, Stuck?, reveals his passion for helping Christians get “unstuck” from the ruts in life that drag us down and keep us from being all that God intended us to be.

Stan and his wife, Ginger, enjoy having four generations of their family living in the Billings area, including three daughters and eight grandchildren.

Stan is a non-voting member of the Foursquare board of directors.

Burt Smith

Senior Pastor, Church of Living Water in Olympia, Wash.

Burt Smith and his wife, Jan, have been in the ministry for more than 30 years. They have served as senior pastors of Church of Living Water in Olympia, Wash., since June of 1991.

The Smiths also pioneered and pastored Little Country Church in Redding, Calif., which grew from seven families to 5,900 members over 13 years. The church also built a Christian day school and high school. Burt served as a Divisional Superintendent, later as the Supervisor of the Evergreen District of Foursquare Churches, and presently he is a member of the Foursquare Cabinet and Board of Directors.

Burt is a true father in the faith. He is esteemed for his availability to pastors and emerging leaders by encouraging and challenging them to achieve the high destiny that God has for each one. Burt’s practical understanding of the Word together with his sincerity and authenticity make him a favored speaker at retreats and conferences.

Ken Swett

Senior Pastor, Foursquare Church in Modesto, Calif.

Ken Swett is chairman of the board, as well as senior pastor of Foursquare Church in Modesto, Calif.

Pastor Ken’s family has been active in Foursquare for three generations; his parents were pastors, and his maternal grandmother was a charter member of the Crescent City, Calif., Foursquare church. He graduated from Foursquare’s Life Pacific College (also known as LIFE Bible College) in 1979.

In his more than 30 years of ministry in the Foursquare church, Pastor Ken has had experience serving as a youth pastor and senior pastor at congregations in San Jose, Santa Fe Springs, Sacramento and Modesto, Calif. From 1992–2003 he served as divisional superintendent for the Western District. He also has been a member of the District License and Ethics Committee, a board member and later chairman of the Old Oak Ranch Camp, a district missions representative, an elected member of the board of directors representing the Western Region, and he was appointed chairman of the Foursquare board of directors in 2009.

In addition to his service as chairman of the board, Pastor Ken is on the Audit Committee, which oversees an annual external audit by a qualified firm; the Finance Committee, which meets monthly to examine and monitor the church’s corporate finances; and the Investment Committee, which shepherds the investments of the corporation, foundation and retirement funds.

Pastor Ken describes serving on the board as “a humbling experience to pray with the board (members) and seek God’s will collectively as we work, discuss, vote and aim for God’s will to be done in everything we do.”

He and his wife, Wanda, have been married for more than 30 years. The Swetts have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and three grandchildren. In his free time, Pastor Ken enjoys riding his motorcycle, a gift from the men at his church.

Ron Swor

Senior Pastor, New Life Foursquare Church in Canby, Ore.

Ron Swor is a 1979 graduate of L.I.F.E. Bible College (currently Life Pacific College). After graduation, he served as youth pastor at the Winston, Ore., Foursquare Church. In 1980, Ron took a position in the Christian school at Portland Foursquare Church and later functioned as the school’s administrator.

Ron is currently the senior pastor at New Life Foursquare Church in Canby, Ore. Since his appointment in 1988, the church has grown steadily from fewer than 200 to more 1,600 in attendance. New Life has birthed seven new churches and played a contributing role in the planting of four additional churches. Ron has filled several leadership positions within Foursquare as well, including his role as the Columbia Southeast Divisional Superintendent, the former Northwest District Church Development Director and the Columbia District Supervisor. Ron is a true shepherd and a visionary leader. He excels in cultivating, developing and releasing leadership in others.

He and his wife, Annette, have one daughter, two sons and two grandchildren.

Ron Thigpenn

Chief Financial Officer, The Foursquare Church

Chief Financial Officer Ron Thigpenn has significant experience in the area of finance. He was a CPA for seven years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, spent 10 years as CFO/COO for two financial institutions in the Los Angeles Area, and served nearly five years in the Corporate Finance Department of WellPoint Health Networks before spending the last seven years as Foursquare Loan Fund Manager.

Ron is also an ordained Foursquare pastor (as is his wife, Judy), having served for four years as a senior pastor and the last five years as an associate pastor in two local Foursquare churches. He currently serves on the Foursquare board of directors as a member of the Building Committee, Executive Committee (Observer), Finance Committee, and Investment Committee.

Ron is a non-voting member of the Foursquare board of directors.
